Dana Marie Miroballi is a writer and speech-language pathologist. She grew up around Army bases in Germany, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan, and now lives in Chicago with her husband, children, and cats. Dana is the author of If My Hair Had a Voice from Beaming Books illustrated by Patricia Grannum, Inventions to Count On: A Celebration of Black Inventors from Abrams Appleseed illustrated by Sawyer Cloud, and Whatcha Doin’? forthcoming from Penguin Workshop. Inventions to Count On was selected for the 2026 Illinois Reads program sponsored by the Illinois Reading Council. Dana is represented by Ammi-Joan Paquette at Aevitas Creative.
